The Team

Hasina Outtz Reed, M.D. Ph.D.

Principal Investigator

Dr. Outtz Reed is an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her M.D./Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Columbia University. Her clinical training in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary and Critical Care was done at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also conducted her postdoctoral research with Dr. Mark Kahn. She holds faculty appointments at Weill Cornell in both the Department of Medicine and the Graduate School of Medical Sciences.

Barbara Summers, BS

Research Specialist and Lab Manager

Barbara Summers graduated from City College of New York. She has over 30 years of lab experience and is involved in all aspects of the lab as well in training of new lab members.

Anjali Trivedi, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Researcher

Anjali Trivedi received her Ph.D. from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. She is working on a project investigating the role of thrombin activation of its receptor PAR-1 on the lymphatic endothelium in a mouse model of COPD.

Chou Chou

Research Fellow

Chou Chou is a fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is working on investigating the role of lymphatic coagulation in acute lung injury.

Tony Lakouetene, MS

Aneel Bhagwani, MBBS, PhD

Senior Animal Technician

Tony has a Master's Degree in Animal Genetics and Reproduction from Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. He oversees the mouse colony for the lab, as well as our animal models of lung injury.

Aneel received his PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University un the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. He is developing novel models of lung lymphatic dysfunction to test the role of these vessels in lung homeostasis and injury.
